Digital Calamity – reading comprehension with a PDF worksheet (A1)

Teaching 5th-grade students is still quite a new and challenging experience for me. However, it didn’t take me much time to realize that young students need more texts to work on, and the ones provided in their handbook may not be enough. My attempts to find some useful texts, preferably stories, were unsuccessful. The stories I came across are suitable for more advanced kids who already know past tenses, which means my pupils are not ready for them. As a result, I decided to take the risk and create my first story. The aim was to make a simple text with an engaging and easy-to-understand plot. I also intentionally used only the present simple and present continuous tenses. Last but not least, my choice of vocabulary related to ICT is not accidental. Feel free to use the PDF worksheet, and let me know if you like it.
